Strawberry Dumplings Recipe
If you enjoy apple dumplings, you’ll love this strawberry variation. Crescent roll dumplings baked in a rich butter and brown sugar sauce make for an easy, crowd-pleasing dessert. The combination of warm, juicy fruit and caramelized topping is irresistible—especially topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

After trying apple and peach dumplings, strawberries were the natural next choice. At first I wondered whether strawberries would work as well, but the result exceeded expectations. The strawberry filling stays tender and juicy while the crescent dough crisps on top, creating a perfect contrast of textures.
These dumplings are dangerously good—once you start eating them it’s hard to stop. They travel well from oven to table and are simple enough to prepare on a weeknight or for company. Below is an easy recipe so you can make them yourself.

Description
These Strawberry Dumplings served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream are perfect for spring and summer. Crescent rolls filled with strawberries and baked in butter & brown sugar sauce. They’re the perfect balance between soft and crispy!
Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) can crescent rolls
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup lemon soda
- 2/3 cup fresh strawberries, diced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter an 8×8-inch baking dish and set aside.
- Place a spoonful of diced strawberries on each crescent roll triangle, roll up, and arrange the dumplings in the prepared dish.
- In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla until combined. Remove from heat and pour evenly over the dumplings.
- Carefully pour the lemon soda into the dish around the edges and into the center, avoiding pouring directly over the rolls so they stay intact.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
- Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
