I’m combining two favorites in one dish: steak and blue cheese pizza. This recipe brings together rich, savory flavors—caramelized onions, spinach, tangy blue cheese, a splash of balsamic, and PRE Brands Sirloin Steak—to create a memorable, easy-to-follow pizza you can make at home.
Caramelized onions take a little time, but the sweet, deep flavor they develop is worth it. If you’re short on time, you can soften the onions quickly in a pan, though slow-cooked onions add the best contrast to the blue cheese, steak, and balsamic. The video embedded earlier demonstrates each step if you prefer a visual guide.
For the steak I used PRE Brands Sirloin Steak. PRE Brands offers 100% grass-fed beef with no added antibiotics or hormones and follows a careful quality process. The steak is the centerpiece here, so simple, complementary seasoning and the right cooking method make all the difference.

I seasoned the steak with equal parts garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then cooked it in a hot grill pan with a touch of butter. You can also cook the steak on an outdoor grill if you prefer. After cooking, let the steak rest before slicing thinly to top the pizza.

Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup chopped spinach
- ¼ cup blue cheese
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1 ball of pizza dough
- 1 PRE Brand sirloin steak
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
-
Start by caramelizing the onion. Heat the olive oil over medium-low heat, add the chopped onion, and let it simmer for about 25 minutes until it turns golden brown and sweet.
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet with 1 teaspoon of butter, then stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch (30 cm) round.
-
Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the dough. Top with chopped spinach and crumbled blue cheese.
-
Bake the pizza for about 25 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is softened.
-
While the pizza bakes, mix the salt, pepper, and garlic powder to make the steak seasoning. Pat the steak dry and season generously on both sides.
-
Heat a grill pan over high heat and add the remaining butter. When it melts and the pan is hot, add the steak and sear.
-
For medium-rare, cook the steak about 4 minutes per side, then remove and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
-
When the pizza comes out of the oven, arrange the sliced steak on top and finish with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Slice and serve while warm.
