Description

These Strawberry Dumplings served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream are perfect for spring and summer. Crescent rolls filled with strawberries and baked in butter & brown sugar sauce. They’re the perfect balance between soft and crispy!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) can crescent rolls
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon soda
  • 2/3 cup fresh strawberries, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter an 8×8-inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. Place a spoonful of diced strawberries on each crescent roll triangle, roll up, and arrange the dumplings in the prepared dish.
  3. In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla until combined. Remove from heat and pour evenly over the dumplings.
  4. Carefully pour the lemon soda into the dish around the edges and into the center, avoiding pouring directly over the rolls so they stay intact.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
  6. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
