13 Stylish Rattan Daybeds and How to Style Them

Looking for a rattan daybed? You’re not alone. Rattan is having a moment, and daybeds are incredibly versatile. I rounded up 13 rattan daybeds we loved while searching for the perfect guest bed. From splurges to budget-friendly picks, there’s a style for every space. I also created four mood boards to show different ways to style a daybed.

With every bedroom in our house already in use, the only place left for guests was our playroom. I wanted to create a cozy guest nook rather than a full guest room.

If you’re short on space, a daybed is a smart solution. Daybeds fit into nooks and corners where a regular sofa would overwhelm the room. We tucked our rattan daybed into a corner and it still reads stylish and intentional.

Rattan brings a relaxed, casual vibe to furniture while still feeling polished and chic—exactly the balance you want from a daybed that doubles as seating and a sleeping surface.

Which Rattan Daybed Did We Choose?

My top pick was number 3, the Avalon bed—such a beautiful design!

Because this is a flexible space and I wasn’t ready to splurge, we chose a more budget-friendly option. We went with the Honey Rattan Daybed from World Market. At $545 it fit our budget, and I caught it during a 30% off sale so I paid about $400—definitely a bargain.

The daybed comes with a cute printed mattress cover you can use over a twin mattress to create an instant bohemian sofa look.

I worried it might look cheap because of the price, but in person the rattan has a rich, saturated tone—not the washed-out look shown online.

Out of all the daybeds I considered, this was one of the most affordable and also one of the prettiest. When not used by guests it functions as a chaise—a cozy place to lounge and read.

Where To Put Daybeds

This daybed will go in our playroom. The room is nearly 500 square feet, has a separate staircase and a private full bath, so it feels like a great spot for an occasional guest. Previously our guests slept on the sectional, which is comfortable—but nothing beats a real bed for a good night’s sleep.

We cleared a corner that previously held an IKEA cube organizer and baskets, and replaced it with the daybed to create a more useful layout. The toy storage is now handled by a dedicated game closet, so the shift made sense and improved the flow.

To save on shipping I picked the bed up at the store and my husband assembled it in just over an hour—easy enough.

I love making moodboards to visualize a space, so I created four different looks for styling the daybed. They helped me narrow choices and see how pieces would work together before I committed.

My aim was a mostly neutral, slightly coastal, and relaxing guest corner centered on the rattan daybed.

I’ll likely reuse a West Elm rug from our bedroom, which mixes jute with wool for a softer feel. For bedding I planned to invest more—guest bedding should be comfortable and durable. A full-length mirror is also a nice convenience for visitors.

A trio of Juju hats is a favorite accent I’ve used in other rooms. They add texture and personality above a daybed and can be moved if the layout changes in the future.

This moodboard leans monochromatic with grays and whites. The warm rattan prevents the palette from feeling cold. I also love the idea of a fluffy white rug for softness underfoot.

A pop of pink in artwork livens the space and the sconce adds to a relaxed coastal feel. This approach could also translate well to a teen’s room thanks to the playful art choice.
